Sven B. Schreiber (sbs) In the 70's, I've always admired people with unusual songwriting skills, having a great sense of melody, and finding the right words for the lyrics. The bad news is that the 70's are over for a long time now. The good new is that today there still are a few artists, like Mijo Biscan, who carry the torch of this good old tradition through the dark of contemporary music. He's one of my favorite Twitch streamers, which allows me to watch him performing live whenever our day schedules match. Favorite track: Twin Flame.

Oh Raven 04:37
Oh raven, how do you keep your heavy body in the air? By only your black feathery oars and your beating chest? You’re bobbing and breathing like a drowning boy out at sea. You labour and you lumber against all of gravity’s favour. Oh raven, do your eyes freeze over? Does it give you a hurting head To breathe all this heatless air? Oh raven, how you do stay up there? Oh sunrise, you are but a Technicoloured stone You’re dreaming your way through the sky looking for your home It’s your last skip across the universe. It’s your giant splash, glowing your phosphorescence. Oh sunrise, where do you get all your gold? Why are you so hard to hold? Oh sunrise, you and raven, oh you and raven are my only friends.

If he dies I’m going to fucking lose it. Lose everything. I’m totally destroyed. I just watched my brother go, to where nobody knows. Pale, silent, sullen, gaunt, like we’d seen a ghost. Like we’d seen a ghost. Like we’d seen a ghost. It’s the ultimate black, from which you’re never comin’ back. It’s a one way track. There is no recourse. No replay. No second dance. No second chance. It’s the edge of the edge, the edge of the edge, the edge of the edge. The edge of the edge, oh it’s the edge of the edge of the edge. It is the void we cannot avoid, we cannot avoid. Cannot avoid. Avoid. No, we cannot avoid. You’ve got your life, you’ve got your life, so what are you gonna do with it? You’ve got your life, you’ve got your life, so what are you gonna do with it? You’ve got your life, you’ve got your life, so what are you gonna do with it? You’ve got your life, you’ve got your life, you’ve got your life So what are you gonna do with it? So what are you gonna do with it? So what are you gonna do with it? So what are you gonna… So what are you gonna do… So what are you gonna do with it?

That’s so pretty I truly could not believe As she got down on one knee How indifferent I was With the true love she offered me Whoever said it’s better to have loved and lost Than to have never loved at all Has never fallen in love and never met With what awaits at the end of it all. At the end of the fall. That’s so pretty, oh and that’s pretty too, baby everything always looked so good on you The stinging of my sins remained when I met you I spent so long looking into your eyes now they’re making me ever so blue My body holds the memory of just how close you love to be, how close you love to be held. Now there’s a flash in my mind knows your face so well, so vivid, so clean Now it places it each and every night in my dreams In my drowning dreams. That’s so pretty, oh and that’s pretty too, baby everything always looked so good on you The stinging of my sins remained when I left you I spent so long looking into your eyes now they’re making me ever so blue My body holds the memory of just how close you love to be, How close you love to be held. How close you love to be held. How close you love to be held. That’s so pretty, oh that’s pretty too, baby now what to do because everything but my love looks good on you Everything but my love looks good on you Everything but my love…

When the nurse came, I read her face Like a book which burst into flame and fell like ash in the dirt Then I felt the whole world hurt When I saw you swimming freely Above your bed, into the air then into the night My love turned you into light I swear I felt you falling Yeah I swear I felt you falling Yeah I swear I felt you fall into deep sleep Inseparable magnetic forces No matter how far apart the two of us are I will always be pulled toward your star I swear I heard you calling Yeah, I swear I heard you calling Yeah, I swear I heard you calling my name The air that I breathe Everything I see Every memory – lives on in me Yeah, and I swear I heard you calling Yeah, I swear I heard you calling Yeah, I swear I heard you calling my name

Trapped Fox 08:39
Nurture me, nourish me Hold out your hand, give only good seed You can build your storm, But can you clear away this fog You built my library, you stack the catalogue So please, please, please, please... It’s getting hard to take in air It’s a battle that I can’t win But we can sit on a hill where the comets fly Lasso our way into the night And upon our return all the cities will be burned Where once was a concrete gloom, All the flowers return to bloom, bloom, bloom, bloom, bloom. When you see your eyes in the eye of your brother And it’s your hand on the tiller to the rudder No matter which way the wind ought to blow It can’t tell you which way you ought to roam They say they found the truth under ground But as soon as it caught light it took off like a sound Coz it’s an apparition in the corner of your eye It’s a visiting relative who you know to have died The trap is shut, the bait is gone Well, the truth don’t lay under the clay No, it’s apportioned and it’s spread throughout your days Now, it’s a treasure for which your mind must be keen Slowly but surely your truth can be gleaned. Ooohhh. They say they found the truth under ground But as soon as it caught light it took off like a sound Coz it’s an apparition in the corner of your eye It’s a visiting relative who you know to have died The trap is shut, the bait is gone They say they found the truth under ground But as soon as it caught light it took off like a sound Coz it’s an apparition in the corner of your eye It’s a visiting relative who you know to have died They say they found the truth under ground But as soon as it caught light it took off like a sound Now it’s an apparition in the corner of your eye It’s a visiting relative who you know to have died The trap is shut, oh no, the bait is gone Now you feel the shame, you tried to catch it at all Oooohhhh... Oooohhhh... Oooohhhh Oooohhhh... Oooohhhh... Oooohhhh

Tomorrow is not here now Yesterday is gone anyhow You never step into the same river twice Light blasts through only one frame at a time This light and this frame is called your beautiful life What fills your world right now, right now, now, now? What do you feel and what is the accompanying sound? Oh the sound. You only exist now and here Who you were yesterday disappeared Know who you are hold what you’ll be Just be here as you are with me Only in this moment can you be yourself perfectly So now are you seeing every single frame? Every frame? Connect each flicker into a continuous flame, flame, flame, flame, flame. This moment is golden. It’s the only thing we need. The past and the future can’t save you. This moment can set you free. So make this moment good. Make it the best that you’ve had. Give it all you are. Give it all that you have. You don’t have to wait any longer. You can be free right now. Just give into it, give into it, give into it. I can show you how. Each moment is an eternity Each moment is eternally deep We can set ourselves free, free, free, free, free.

We wander aimless and afraid Of our shadows, floods and our graves Coz we just can’t explain it any other way Now how can you expect to be saved When you surrounded yourself with other slaves? The few are only our masters because we let them be We’ve got the numbers Bring them out into the street We’ve got the numbers The giant has awoken from its sleep. Yeah, yeah, yeah. For us to enter the bright future where people are free to become who they truly are, you must see through the illusion and know that you are not ruled by any person or force beyond you. Your true self calls you forward now. Together, we’ve got the numbers. Then a man came and lifted you above his head By the simple words that he said His hopeful hymn put you under a hypnotic servile sleep When this god sang the song you’ve longed to hear That he’ll absolve you of all of your fear You started to hear whatever you wanted to believe We’ve got the numbers Bring them out into the street We’ve got the numbers This giant has awoken from its sleep We’ve got the numbers Drop your weapon, get on your knees. We’ve got the numbers Your power ruse has been revealed. Revealed. Revealed. Revealed.

Guilt, you dig your hooks deep in me You tie me to volatile wild-eyed horses Every time you show me her face, lightning cracks into my chest And the chargers tear me apart as they tear off in their separate ways. Guilt, shame, horror and blame It’s guilt and… Shame, you sail your sorrows into the heart of me You wreck me then the sinking begins, her siren song in my ear. When she floods my nightmares, dark mountains crash in over me And the water (becomes), the water (becomes), the water, the water, becomes all that I can breathe Horror, I feel your burning eyes on me A lurking creature in the places that I like to swim It’s a hit from the glove of Mohamed Ali for every wayward memory. A prison in, a prison in the shape, in the shape that my body takes. Now it’s guilt, shame, horror and blame. X2 It’s guilt, shame… Horror. Horror. Horror. Horror.

A rock came smashing through my window with a letter attached by a piece of string. I keep getting these strange invitations by a phantom requesting my pursuit of him. Once I have his scent I begin to think that this was my idea from the very beginning. Signed by the phantoms of love, freedom, grace, Abstinence and then my very own name. As I skulk through the alley I sense them in the sewer beneath As I dive deep down to the coral their shadows move among the reef, evading me. I write return to sender and now the postmaster is bent and confused. He’ll have a challenge getting back and beyond the reaches of the known universe. Out there beyond where thought comes from he’ll see the phantoms emotional hues. None is more devastating to the eye than all of these human blues. As I trawl through the valley I hear their voices coming from the mount. As I summit the peak I see them sailing across the oceans skin, without me. I again write return to sender and now the postmaster is bent and confused. He’ll have a challenge getting back and beyond the reaches of the known universe. Out there beyond where love comes from he’ll see the phantoms emotional hues. None is more devastating to the eye than all of these human blues. All of these human blues All of these human blues All of these human blues All of these human blues All of these human blues All of these human blues All of these human blues All of these human blues

Twin Flame 03:38
I wanna be your eyes, I wanna be your eyes at sunset. I wanna be your breath, your deep and heavy breath at night Our twin flame sparks when we meet We burn up in each other’s heat. Oh we burn. I wanna be the beat, I wanna be the beat of your heart I wanna be your one, the one, the one, the one you dream of The one that holds you wherever you go The one true lover you’ll ever know. You’ll ever know. You’re the only song that I know You’re the only song on my radio You’re the only one for who I’d ever bleed You’re the only blood my body ever needs If the wind changes. If the light goes low The waters rise, our hands slip and we let go If I lose you for a time, I’ll hold you in my mind Because I’m always yours and you are always mine You’re the only song that I’ve ever known You’re the only song I ever pick up on my little radio You’re the only one for who I’d ever bleed You’re the only river filling my sea You’re the golden light that’s setting me free You’re the only blood my body ever needs

I Remember 04:15
It’s a watery haze where little makes sense Where your yearning is amplified through a fractured golden lens It was our home, but it wasn’t our home, but I think it was, you know? When I wake, I recollect the one thing that you said. I remember you said you loved me. I remember you said, you said. You wade into the lake and you disappeared inside I searched in tow until I reached the edges of my mind The lake opened up and you were there, a mermaid of course You came close up and whispered your universal law I remember you said you loved me. I remember you said, you said. x2 You came along tonight to hold me tight and guide me gracefully through my dark night You came along tonight to protect me well with your love so I awake with a free heart You said you loved me x3 I remember you said you loved me. I remember you said, you said. I remember you said you loved me. I remember you said, you said, you said, you said.

about

Golden Moment is Mijo's first full length solo album. 11 tracks cover the terrain of self-actualisation, navigating love, facing the death of friends and empowering messages of individualism as well as the power of community.

After a number of releases with his former band Lamplight, this solo record is a stark statement of Mijo's personal philosophy. The music underneath changes, but the message is the same. You are here now. Life is precious. Let's make the best of it while we can.
